The Housing Authority of the City of Orlando, Florida (OHA) will stop accepting online and in office pre-applications for the Conventional Public Housing Program on September 30, 2016 at 11:59 p.m.
You will still be able to manage and up-date your pre-application on line by using the “Apply for Housing” link.
Effective October 1, 2016 the Conventional Public Housing waiting list will be closed.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro today granted $500,000 to Sanford Housing Authority as part of $8 million awarded nationwide to 10 severely distressed neighborhoods to stimulate affordable housing and economic development. Funded through HUD’s Choice Neighborhoods Initiative, these awards will help local leaders to craft comprehensive, homegrown plans to revitalize and transform these neighborhoods.
Part of the Obama Administration’s effort to build Ladders of Opportunity to the middle class, HUD’sChoice Neighborhoods Initiative promotes a comprehensive approach to transforming neighborhoods struggling to address the interconnected challenges of distressed housing, inadequate schools, poor health, high crime, and lack of capital. MOVING TO WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019/YEAR 8

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND
SUBSEQUENT PUBLIC HEARING
The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking public input on the Moving to Work (MTW) Fiscal Year (FY) 2019/Year 8 Plan. The Plan describes OHA’s MTW Program activities designed to (1) increase self-sufficiency among families served, (2) reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in Federal expenditures, and (3) increase housing choices for low-income families. The Plan delineates implementation strategies and timeframes for proposed and approved activities and uses of MTW funds for the period of April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019.
The public comment period will begin Monday, September 18, 2017 and end Thursday, October 19, 2017. OHA will conduct a public hearing, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the OHA’s Administration Office, 390 N. Bumby Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803. The OHA’s Board of Commissioners will receive verbal and/or written comments on the Plan.
