The Housing Authority of the City of Orlando, Florida (OHA) will accept pre-applications on-line for the Sanford/Seminole County Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program Waiting List.  These Section 8 vouchers will provide housing assistance in  Sanford/Seminole County, Florida.  Beginning Monday, May 5, 2014 at 12:00 mid-night and ending Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. interested persons may submit a pre-application on-line at the Orlando Housing Authority’s website

All pre-applications must be submitted on-line.  Computers will be available for interested persons to apply Monday, May 5, 2014 -Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Sanford Housing Authority Administration Office, 94 Castle Brewer Court, Sanford, FL  32771. The Orlando/Sanford Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) waiting list will close Friday, May 9, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

All pre-applications will be assigned the same date and time, and will be ranked randomly (within each preference category). Pre-applications will be given a date and time ranking within preference categories with computer generated numbers. 

The housing choice voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, and/or households that are the elderly, disabled afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.  Housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing.

Orlando Housing Authority Seeks Landlords With Handicap Accessible Units to Refer to Section 8 Program Disabled Households 

The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking property owners with rental units that are handicap accessible.  The units must meet Housing Quality Standards (HQS), Section 504 Accessibility and ADA Criteria.  If you are a landlord with an accessible dwelling unit available lease, please go to the Orlando Housing Authority website at, and click on “Handicap Accessible Unit Registry.”   You may also come to the Orlando Housing Authority Section 8 Office, 300 Reeves Court, Orlando, FL  32801, or call us at 407-894-1500 ext 5200.
